About Alex
My service stands out because I have been a tutor for 3 years, two years tutoring my classmates at Glenbrook South High School in all subjects, and one year tutoring math, science, Spanish and English privately while studying Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Princeton University. Because of my past experience, I am prepared to tutor in a multitude of subjects and prepared to teach those subjects in a manner that is ideal for the student.
When I was in elementary school, high school and even in college, the best feeling was and still is when I, the tutor, am able to make a concept finally make sense to the tutee, in other words, create that "Eureka" moment. I know how much of a struggle some topics can be, and I love helping students to grasp those concepts, and thrive in their academic life.
I am currently a rising sophomore at Princeton University studying Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering in the school of Engineering and Applied Sciences. I have been tutoring for three years, two of which at high school, and one year tutoring privately while studying in college.

My typical process starts with evaluating what problems the student is having, and specifically what needs to be addressed and worked on. Sometimes this is an academic need, such as help with a topic in math, and sometimes it is help with organization.
After we have determined what needs to be worked on, we, the student and I, will set goals for the tutoring sessions in the short and long term.
After we set goals, I will create a plan for each tutoring session to meet the goals in a timely manner. And then, we get to work!
I have worked with students ranging from 5th grade up to 12th grade.
