About Carrie
I love seeing the spark light up in my student's eyes whenever the discover the solution to a problem, dive into a subject that connects with their interests, or finally grasp a concept that has been lingering just out of reach.
I am a current sophomore at Princeton University. My SAT score was 1580/1600, and my PSAT score was a perfect 1520 --giving me the title of National Merit Finalist. I have achieved perfect 800s on all of my SAT II subject tests -- Biology, Math 2, and US History. I took 17 AP courses throughout high school, and received 15 5s and 2 4s, making me a nationally recognized AP Scholar. I got a 21/24 on the essay portion of my SAT. Furthermore, I am an AIME (national math competition) qualifier, multiple-time Science Olympiad and Chemistry Olympiad team member, and Gold Medal-winning writer in the Scholastic Arts competition.
I have been tutoring since my sophomore year in high school with the Livingston High School OST tutoring program, which offered assistance to struggling students. Within the OST tutoring program, I have tutored all levels of math ranging from Algebra 1 to Calculus (in either the college prep, honors, or AP levels). I have also tutored English Language and composition classes to help revise essays. Finally, I have tutored Spanish up to the 4-Honors level. I have also tutored a multitude of private clients in all aspects of math (school, competition-level, etc.), science (high school biology and chemistry), English, and standardized tests (SAT, SAT subject tests, PSAT, AP tests).
As a student, there is nothing better than getting that aha moment, whether you are having a vibrant discussion in a classroom or sitting one-on-one with a professor. I have been lucky enough to get several aha moments throughout my school years with various different teachers, and I strive to bring those amazing moments of connection and understanding to my students. I am devoted to making sure each one of my students has a engaging trip along their intellectual journey. Helping my students fulfill their academic potential is an indescribable joy.
