About Katie
I fell in love with teaching at an early age. My brother has Down Syndrome, so growing up with his, I have always been interested in special education. I love finding new and exciting ways to teach students who may not learn the typical way.
I have a bachelors degree is Special Education. I have 3 years of teaching under my belt as well!

My typical process for working with a new student is to spend the first few sessions getting to know them. I value relationships in my teaching and I truly believe it sets such a strong foundation for learning. Next, I will assess where the student is at in the wanted subject area. I will then build my lessons from there!
I have worked with every age of students. I student taught in 3 different settings. I have worked with high school aged students with Learning Disabilities, middle school students with emotional/behavior difficulties, and even a self contained early elementary classroom for students with severe disabilities. I currently teach students with learning disabilies grades 3-5!
I just recently got engaged and got a new puppy named Cami!
