About Nick

K-12 Math and ACT/SAT material is to put it bluntly: my wheelhouse (I'm very comfortable/strong in these academic categories).

My personality traits and skillset feel like they're made for tutoring. Let me explain: I am a patient person and I thoroughly enjoy helping people through problems (not just academic, that's what matters here though). I am also persistant, if the person I'm tutoring doesn't understand the first 1/2/3/etc. ways that I explain something, I will continue to find new ways until they understand the material. I'm not here to make a quick buck and simply show them what to do, I will do my best to actually help them understand the content, this will aid them in their future schooling.

I've done some small scale tutoring, like relatives or classmates/friends, and have always enjoyed helping people understand what's going on with their material. I also tutored middle schoolers in my last couple years of high school, and enjoyed not only interacting with the kids, but patiently helping them to make it through their schoolwork.

ALSO: important to me, I don't condescend people, whether they are my age, or much younger. If the person I'm tutoring is younger and/or less understanding of the concept, I will NOT make them feel bad about not understanding it, I am simply here to guide them to understanding it themselves.

Just as a person that excelled in k-12 school, I ended up helping other people. I also just enjoy helping people in general, so I gravitated towards tutoring/teaching opportunities when they were presented.

Firstly, understanding the material that we will be working on. Secondly, I will want to understand their tendencies and how I can use those to work with them easier, but that won't be something I share with them or make open, it's just something I will be doing in the back of my mind while I'm trying to figure out the best way to tutor them.

Kids from middle school to anywhere in high school, even a little beyond that.

Hire me, other than that, make sure the tutor/teacher is understanding and willing to help through situations that the student really struggles with, and needs lots of patience and assistance to get through.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
What do they understand and not understand about the material that they are going to present that they need help with.

No, I don't have a definitive value. But one thing I know for sure, I want to offer a free first session for any new student, not only because I feel that's an attractive reason to try me as a tutor, but I want to give everybody who is going to be tutored by me a chance to test my abilities. I feel that's fair and allows the person being tutored or the parents of them a much safer option. If you don't think I'm the right fit, it was free so no harm, no foul.

After the first session, honestly, I'd appreciate anything above minimum wage that you can get from walmart/target. So $20+ an hour would be what I'm hoping for at a minimum, $30 an hour or more would be fantastic. I feel that I can earn $30+ an hour with my skillset.
