I have really enjoyed your MA 16010 class this semester and the way in which you teach and explain concepts. I fear that I will not do as well next semester with a teacher who doesn't possess these skills. Is there any way you could tell me which time slots you will be teaching MA 16020 next semester so I can be sure to schedule appropriately on Monday?
Mr Ochoa is a great instructor mostly because he does many examples in class and explains the content and material thoroughly instead of just throwing random equations and jumping through calculations.
Continue being clear with your explanations and and examples, they are very helpful. Especially the optimization problems, those were very difficult but your explanations and examples were helpful.
I think Mr. Ochoa is a very nice teacher. I can understand the stuffs from every class. He is really patient and responsible.
This instructor really helped me improve on my knowledge of calculus and I found his teaching methods very helpful. I was able to gain a lot out of this course and now feel I understand the relationship between calculus and other subjects better.
I really liked how organized and prepared my instructor was. He started on time and finished with providing all possible examples we would see on our homework. When we had quizzes at the end of certain classes, he still provided enough time for us to complete them while finishing lecture thoroughly.
Something Manny does particularly well is to take student input and find the part of it that is accurate or correct, and to reframe the remainder in a way that is not discouraging. He does an excellent job of explaining mathematical conceptual ideas when students do not understand why something is the way it is. He demonstrates such concepts clearly.
Mr. Ochoa did an excellent job teaching this course. He should continue to go over several in-depth examples on the chalk board.
He takes his time going through the problems.
He gives very challenging quizzes. However, this allows students to be better prepared for exams. The average for section I was in, was always above average for exam scores.
He explains the material very well in an organized fashion.
Communicated the ideas quite clearly
He prepares very well to teach in class, and cares about the feeling of students.
He is very good at explaining concepts and providing helpful examples while teaching.
He writes well using chalk.
The instructor's notes were organized and easy to follow.
Manuel provides a visual explanation of the lecture material when he can which I find helpful.
Mr. Ochoa is very fair. He is like a machine, gets things done, quizzes students appropriately, and prepares us well for tests. Great to have had him as a recitation instructor.
Best recitation instructor I've had so far. I have no complaints.
Manny is always prepared for our Recitation sessions. He gives thoughtful explanations of material and seems to actually care about us learning the material (as opposed to him only caring about getting a pay check). He is very kind/polite and I feel lucky to have him as a recitation instructor. I highly recommend
him as a Teaching Assistant (and teacher in general).
Manny was an integral (pun intended) part of my learning of the material in MA 162. He has a very, very deep knowledge of math and is patient and willing to teach what he knows. His quizzes were well designed (challenging, but not obscenely difficult) and he was respectful at all times. I would love to have Manny as a TA again. He graded fairly and always answered my questions with thoughtful explanations.
He was very knowledgeable on the subject so everything he said was very credible.
He is really easy to understand. Not only does he speak clearly, but he explains his work extremely well.
He helped out so much! When any student had a question, he would answer it and explain it in an interesting and understandable way. If we "had no questions" he would bring up a topic and explain it which always helped us with homework, a quiz, or an exam. He is a great TA!
He was very good at explaining things differently than they were explained in class. This made it so that if I didn't understand the professor's explanation, I might understand it when it was explained in a different way. Also, when he showed us how to do a problem, he worked through each step and explained very clearly what he had just done.
