I am here to help you achieve any academic dream you may have regardless of how impossible it seems right now! Let's get you started today with an expert tutor!
Meet your head coach!
Hello! My name is Donovan Dowers and I founded ChemCoach to help students turn their breakdowns into breakthroughs.
I have 6 years of academic coaching experience. While I was a student at Boston University, I served as an undergraduate teaching assistant for General Chemistry 1 and 2 for 1 year, and I am now in my 7th year of private coaching.
When I was an undergraduate student at BU, I truly struggled to find study methods that would get me top scores in the highly competitive and difficult pre-medical courses. In fact, I finished my sophomore year with below a 3.0 GPA! I wondered how I would ever get into medical school and fulfill my life career dream.
Instead of selling out and choosing an easier path, I pushed ahead full force and never looked back. The results I achieved landed me on the Dean's list junior and senior year. I then completed a Master's degree and then applied and was accepted to three well-known U.S. allopathic medical schools (MD and MD-MPH programs).
Literally, ANYTHING you want for yourself or for your life is available to you with the right mindset and hard work—and that is why creating breakthroughs for students is a passion of mine. I am here to help you achieve any dream you may have regardless of how impossible it seems right now.
I have worked with students of all ages, majors, and proficiencies and am an expert in helping you find your path to success. In addition to my coaching experience, I have also completed university-level education course work in teaching STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics courses) subjects.
I have a bachelor's degree in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology and a master's degree in Medical Sciences. I am now an MD-MPH student at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.

Why Private Tutoring and Coaching?
For today's busy student, having access to high-yield help at the touch of a button is key.
ChemCoach's offerings are the perfect tool for students who are highly-involved and have little time for outside academic help. We work with athletes, double-majors, performers, club presidents and more.
Our students need flexibility in fulfilling ALL of their academic goals and dreams, and we provide support consistently and at your convenience.
Our private tutoring offerings are fully customizable to your individual academic goals and will give you the kinds of high-impact results that office hours, group studying, or individual studying simply cannot provide.
Elementary, middle school, high school, college, university, and graduate students
Just like an Olympic athlete needs a coach to achieve high performance and go for the gold, the same is true for students who want the "A" on their transcript!
We're not just tutors, we're coaches! Our coaches are highly trained in making a quantifiable difference in student performance.

ChemCoach has been a life saver for our daughter who is studying Marine Science at the University of Miami. All of the tutors she has worked with are incredibly knowledgeable, patient and personable. They are also very flexible and have worked within her schedule.
ChemCoach helped me immensely throughout my General Chemistry experience. I not only was able to understand the material better, but I also gained skills to help me study for other courses throughout my college experience. I saw huge improvements in my exam grades after having just a couple sessions with ChemCoach. ChemCoach tutors are amazing!
I like having a personalized tutor and I what I liked most is that I am able to customize and plan how I want each tutoring session to go. I’ve learned so much!
I’ve used ChemCoach once so far and I feel so much better about the material already. I needed help explaining math concepts to me and Riyan was able to identify my issues and help me with various problems. Definitely will continue with him!
They are extremely professional, well organized, and extremely helpful. My understanding of topics and how I prepare for class and take notes has drastically improved
Amazing tutors! Truly care about the students and make sure they understand all the concepts!
Great tutoring
I have used ChemCoach tutoring for 3 different classes and I’ve had an amazing experience with each one! The tutors genuinely care about their students and put a lot of time into each session. I highly recommend chemcoach to all my friends and Donovan is the best!
I have used ChemCoach for the past two semesters, and each time I have met with a tutor my grades have SOARED from a D to an A. I am so blessed to have worked with such amazing and supportive people.
