About Edith
I have been a Math teacher for 9 years with extensive experience helping students understand concepts in Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, College Algebra, Pre Calculus, Trigonometry, Calculus. I have a Master of Arts in Education and a teaching credential from the state of California. My last four years of experience have been teaching online, so integrating technology while learning these concepts is naturally embeded in most of my sessions.
I like helping students understand Math concepts and leading them to good learning experiences. Having good learning experiences when learning Math helps students to gain confidence in their ability to learn it. Additionally, it is my goal that students excel in their Math class; therefore, I give advise on how students can plan to bring their grades up.
I started as a substitute teacher in all school districts around my living area. Then, I was invited to teach in a private middle school while I was still in my teaching program. After finishing my program of study, I started teaching in a middle school, after a year I started teaching in high school, and have been teaching high school for 6 years.
I have been a Math teacher for 9 years. Additionally, I have a Masters in education (M.Ed) and a single subject teaching credential in Mathematics from the state of California.

When working with a new student, I want to know what level of understanding he/she has on the math topic; therefore, I will not give answers to problems, but will start where students are and build up their understanding and knowledge so they can reach the solution.
I have enjoyed working with a diverse group of students. This includes those who think they are not good a Math, those who are high achievers and need a little help to reinforce concepts.

Details
Yes, I charge $20/hour and we can safely meet through zoom as whiteboard is incorporated in there. Alternatively, I have plenty of educational online platforms to use where a student can use the whiteboard, chat, mic, as well as uploading assignments to work on.
I want to make my service as accessible as possible, so if you have a desire for your child to suceed, but you think $20 is not affordable, can always negotiate cost.
