I have worked with amazing students who strive to be the best versions of themselves and I have also taught 18 year old freshmen who didnt want friends to know that they can learn (it's a long but good story about my first year teaching)
Make sure the tutor is can relate to you. That they care more about you, then the subject matter they are teaching. You came for a reason of learning, but you should still be number 1.
I have always been fond of teaching kids who didnt like math and turn them into someone who understands anyone can be good at it.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
What exactly are you trying to learn (Solving linear equations) and have examples ready of what you need to be taught.
