About Marti
I've been teaching high school mathematics for 17 years. I've taught every subject from pre-Algebra to Calculus.
I fully believe that the traditional way math is taught in schools can cause trauma and/or an extreme dislike for the subject. I've made it my mission and career to empower students, especially female and historically under-represented students, in mathematics so they have the confidence they need to pursue higher education in STEM fields.
I have my Bachelors of Science degree in Mathematics and my Masters of Arts degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis on Technology.
I love when a student has the "ah-ha" lightbulb moment. When something they're trying to understand just "clicks". I also very much love when my students start to see math as something that's possible for them to understand and enjoy.
