About Timothy
I love when my students not only understand material but also understand how to use that material to help them solve problems. I've always loved math for what it enables you to do more than for pure mathematics itself, and I want my students not only to understand a subject but also to understand how that subject can be useful to them.
My first teaching experience was in high school, when I volunteered at a center helping people who had dropped out of school finish their GEDs. I went on to do more volunteer tutoring in undergrad, and have loved tutoring and teaching ever since.
I have been teaching mathematical and analytical courses for almost eight years, and have tutored for longer. I have experience teaching mathematical and technical skills to students who love math and students who loathe math

- High School dropouts working on their GEDs
- Second through eighth graders in inner city St Louis
- Incoming college first years
- College undergraduates with majors ranging from biology to business to engineering
But I am more than comfortable working with students who are not in any of these categories!
