About Steven
My work centers on teaching individuals skills that empower them spiritually, elevate consciousness and align with purpose. I have personally been on an intense path of pursuing higher levels of consciousness and accessing deeper dimensions of life experience for many years. It is my great desire to impart those skills to other seekers of like mind.
My approach is highly interactive and organically driven. My students and I set the direction of our work in advance and as we progress, let the course of the study develop and evolve according to its own inner logic, step by step.
I am a practicing Kabbalist for over 35 years, teaching at the Center for Jewish Mystical Studies, the Chochmat HaLev Meditation Center, the Esalen Institute, the College of Early Christian Studies, the Globe Institute.
I maintain a Spiritual Counselling practice for people of all backgrounds.
I have authored two books, "The Meditation Practice Within the Kabbalah" and "The Dead Sea Scrolls: Understanding The Spiritual Messages". My third book on the Tree of Life will be released next year.
I received my BA from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem and both my BHL and MA from Spertus College of Judaica in Chicago. I was ordained personally by Rabbi Zalman Schachter-Shalomi, the founder of the Jewish Renewal Movement.

I work with individuals who are opening up spiritually as well as with those who are already on conscious spiritual paths and moving to the next level. Helping others open the doors of inner awareness and then encounter the rich variety of their hidden qualities and latent talents is vastly empowering. The wellspring of ones creativity bursts forth in response. When consciousness is elevated, there is an immediate expansion of inner clarity which results in a constantly evolving understanding of reality and Self. To experience this majesty is absolutely transformative for both the student and the teacher. I find the light and the joy exhilirating.
