About Allie
I see and honor each child, welcoming their own ideas and capabilities. I believe that children are capable and competent, and that they need time and space to make meaning of the world around them by exploring the relationships that emerge through their entanglements with one another, materials, and the nonhuman. Children need opportunities to learn more about themselves and one another, while being supported in being their most authentic selves through their experiences and interactions. I try to share with children the tools they need to negotiate roles and conflicts within groups to navigate their way through problem- solving, using their voice to stand up for themselves or others and share their perspectives. I support and encourage children to navigate their way through emotions, helping them reflect upon how they feel and reminding them of their own strength and capabilities. As children practice these skills and develop these abilities, they are learning to be advocates for themselves and others.
