About Abibatou

I am a teenage tutor aged 18 years old openly willing to help children from elementary to high school levels with an open mind. I have experience taking honors and advanced placement classes and started in the gifted and talented program in the third grade so I have always been able to excel when needed and happy to do the same to your child!

I enjoy watching the progress of the children I help and the enthusiasm they develop and eagerness to do better an meet their goals when they understand what to do.

I have never professionally taught because I am seventeen years old however I have experience tutoring students.

I have volunteered as a tutor for a daycare many times however I have never professionally done it before and it would be new to me however I have taken and college course in Teacher Cadet to help me become more aware and comfortable of the teaching and tutoring world and make me better at the task at hand.

About the lesson

With working with a new student I would like to get to know their learning style first and proceed to find what they struggle most at. Then I would make study guides and assignments pertaining to the lesson that isn't too draining so the child can pay attention without feeling like there is another load of work. I also can give incentives when progress is made.

I have worked with elementary and middle school students the most and I have worked with some preschoolers as well. The age range of most people I have tutored have been of 4-10 years old.

I would suggest being patient with the child and to always encourage them to keep going so they feel that all is for nothing and that they are working towards a goal to help in the long run.

I am fond of a little girl who was eight years old who I had tutored and noticed little patterns of her behavior that showed she missed simple core values and helped her understand the entirety of her lesson rather than taking shortcuts by giving incentives in exchange for the work of study guides that are simple and interactive and saw and increase in her math grades from an F to a B

Maybe you can ask questions pertaining to their i interests so that incentives and lessons can be personalized towards them to make them feel comfortable and open to learning.

I am open to any pricing givin by the parent as long as it is reasonable however I do take into account that I am fairly new at being a professional tutor and will not ask for much.
