About Jim
I am one of 50 schools under PKSA. We are the largest martial arts school in the Midwest and the second largest in the country. Most of our schools teach ages 4 and up. Our style is Tang Soo Do from South Korea. I also teach a TSD Tai Chi class and a Defense and Tactics class called Reflex for ages 16 and up.
As for myself, I am a 3rd degree Black Belt. I have been in the martial arts for about 15 years and have been an instructor for about 10 years. I don’t teach for a living, I already have a full time job. I teach because I love doing it. I enjoy seeing people, besides learning to defend themselves, improving themselves in many other ways.
Started out as an assistant instructor and went from there.
15 years the the martial arts, 10 years teaching.

Get to know the student and find out there reasons for wanting to learn martial arts. Tell them about the school and it’s history, begin teaching.
All types including some with adhd.
If you are taking a martial arts class as a sport, look for a Tai Kwon Do school. If you want to learn to protect yourself, stay away from Schools that are all about tournaments and trophies.

Details
Price depends on how many from the family will be a student. I like to discuss price in person and not over the phone or text. I will say though that I am pretty inexpensive compared to other schools because I don’t do this for a living. I teach because I enjoy it.
