About Bénilde
I hold a master's in chemistry (GPA: 4.33) and a bachelor’s in science with a joint major in biochemistry and microbiology (GPA: 3.94). I have accumulated years of experience as a tutor for high school students and first-year university students for numerous science courses (chemistry, biochemistry, biology, physics, and mathematics). Additionally, I have been a teaching assistant for chemistry lab sessions for the last 18 months, so I can also help with lab reports (I have written and marked tons of them throughout my academic and professional curriculum).

My teaching methodology lies on two principles. The main one is to try as much as I can, to get the students to figure out the answers by themselves by giving them hints without giving out the "whole" answer. Not only does it help to strengthen their confidence but more importantly, course materials taught that way are not easily forgotten. The bonus of that methodology is that I am also sure that the student fully understood the covered subject. The other principle of my methodology is to always make sure the student understands the theory before we tackle practice questions. In my experience, it tremendously helps to ease the latter part.

Beni and I met at St boniface when I was looking for a tutor in physics and chemistry. He tutored me for a semester and I was able to pass me year one chemistry class which I had failed the previous year . Beni is a good tutor, he’s very good at what he does and he can be a little cutthroat sometimes but that is only in his effort to make you excel. He is very caring , made sure I made it to the bus on time, tried to be flexible as he had a busy schedule and recommended a great physics teacher. All this are reasons I recommend Beni as a tutor, plus his pears love him and I’m sure you will too.
As a tutor, Benilde MIZERO has done nothing less than enlightening me.
It never seemed like an obligation or a duty, rather a genuine interest in my success and development. During the days where he tutored me organic chemistry and Biochemistry I was very frustrated but, he never made it too easy nor make it seem impossible, rather made sure that I intellectually grow and learn to always make a way through while relying on my knowledge rather than underestimate it.
Grateful would be an understatement since academically speaking, his tutoring was a turnover.
I received tutoring and mentorship all at once and I can firmly say that I grew not only as a student but also as a person and he is to be greatly thanked for that.
“Do not give them a candle to light the way, teach them how to make fire instead. That is the meaning of enlightenment.” ― Kamand Kojouri
Benilde has an incredible passion of teaching especially in biology and chemistry. Last year I was struggling in both biology and chemistry classes, and all the time I reached out to him I had good grades. Basically he is those kind of teachers that’s gonna make you love whatever they’ll be teaching you, because he always try to relate the course to the real life.
I’ve spent a whole year with Benilde, and all i know is that he is an engaging, responsible person and there is no doubt that he is a great teacher. He knows how to give explanation in a quite easy way, that leaves you, with all the knowledge you are supposed to know about that thing. After all he was a very genuine person, and a good tutor to many of us and I owe him much respect for what he had made me accomplish in Chemistry in general in my second year of undergraduate in the University of Manitoba
