About Raldo
As a graduate in Political Science with over eight years of experience in the educational and vocational training sectors, I bring a high level of professionalism and a proven track record of student success to every lesson. My career has been dedicated to guiding learners through high-pressure academic transitions, including advising postgraduate students on complex curricula and helping them overcome significant learning barriers. When you work with me, you are not just getting a tutor; you are getting a seasoned academic success coach who is deeply committed to your progress and understands the standards required to excel at both high school and university levels.
I hold a recognized degree from the University of the Western Cape, which provides the academic foundation for the subjects I teach, from the intricate narratives of History and Ancient Mythology to the technical processes of Geography. My experience in consultative advisory roles means I am an expert at identifying a student's unique "why" and tailoring my methodology to fit their specific needs. I pride myself on clear communication, meticulous preparation, and a results-oriented approach that consistently turns academic anxiety into measurable confidence.
You can trust that our sessions will be structured, goal-driven, and focused on tangible outcomes like improved essay structure, sharper critical thinking, and higher exam scores. I am honest about the work required to succeed, and I am equally dedicated to providing the tools and support necessary to get you there. My goal is to establish a professional partnership that empowers you to master your subjects and achieve the academic results you are capable of.

My methodology is built on the "Student Champion" approach—I don't just teach the curriculum, I coach the student. I specialize in breaking down complex History, Geography, and Classical Literature into relatable, real-world metaphors that make the content stick. What makes me unique is my 8-year background in professional success coaching, allowing me to spot and fix learning barriers while building the academic confidence needed to master essay writing and exam prep.
I am proficient and able to teach in English.
In a typical lesson, students can expect a high-energy, collaborative session that starts with a "confidence check" on previous material, followed by a deep dive into new concepts—whether that's analyzing a historical turning point, mapping a geographical process, or exploring the themes of Ancient Mythology. We conclude every lesson by co-creating an actionable "Success Plan" or essay outline so the student knows exactly how to move forward.
My lessons are primarily aimed at High School (Grade 8-12) students who want to excel in History, Geography, and Classical Literature. I am also a great fit for any student who feels overwhelmed by their workload and needs a structured, supportive environment to regain control of their academic journey.
