About Jaan
About Me
I’m a Lancaster University graduate who secured an Analyst position at American Express at just 22, joining a leading S&P 500 financial services company early in my career. Since then, I’ve built experience across financial services, boutique law, accountancy, cybersecurity and digital payments, giving me an insight into what it takes to stand out in competitive recruitment processes.
My Experience
My career began with internships at boutique law firms, before I moved into cybersecurity at the National Cyber Security Centre, where I contributed to initiatives strengthening data protection and won an award for my work. I then joined a high-growth digital payments startup as a graduate, gaining experience in a fast-moving, scaling business, before securing my Analyst role at American Express.
Mentoring
I’ve mentored 50 students, helping them strengthen their CVs, prepare for interviews and pursue opportunities with leading employers, including Big Four firms and competitive internship programmes. Ten of those students went on to secure offers at the Big Four. Having been through these processes myself, I know how to present your experience effectively, communicate your value and approach applications with confidence.
