  • Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?

My subject is English language and communication, but for me it's much more than grammar or literature. English is a tool of confidence, access and self-expression. I developed an interest in this field when I noticed how deeply language affects a person's self worth, how students with ideas felt small simply because they couldn't express themselves fluently. That gap between intelligence and expression stayed with me. Over time, teaching English became my way of bridging that gap and giving students a voice they already had but didn't know how to use.
  • What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?

My biggest motivation is students who doubt themselves. Many come to me carrying fear of speaking, of being judged, of failing. I see myself in them. Teaching allows me to be the support system I once needed: someone who doesn't just correct mistakes, but believes before the student does. I didn't choose teaching for comfort; I chose it because it lets me change how someone sees themselves.
  • How does your work help society?

My work helps society by creating confident communicators, not just exam-clearers. When students learn to articulate their thoughts clearly and fearlessly, they perform better in interviews, classrooms, workplaces, and public spaces. Confidence multiplies one student speaking up influences many others. In a society where talent often goes unheard due to lack of language skills, my work ensures that ability is not silenced by hesitation.
  • If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?

I don't follow a single role model; instead, I am inspired by teachers who teach with empathy rather than authority. Educators who adapt their teaching to the learner, not the syllabus, motivate me deeply. I also draw inspiration from strong communicators people who speak with clarity and calm under pressure because that is what I aim to cultivate in my students.
  • Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.

Outside teaching, I enjoy reading, reflective writing and observing people their speech, behaviour and emotional patterns. These interests feed directly into my teaching style because understanding people helps me teach better. I also like organising thoughts, creating structured content and constantly upgrading my own language skills. For me, growth is not a phase; it's a habit.
  • Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?

One of my students once told me she had to speak for ten minutes in an oral exam but was terrified of public speaking. She couldn't even complete a sentence without panic. We worked slowly not just on content, but on breathing, pauses and mindset. On the day of the test, she didn't just speak for ten minutes but also she spoke confidently. When she told me, "I didn't fumble even once," I knew that teaching isn't about marks; it's about breaking fear. That moment reaffirmed why I do what I do.
