About Clara
I am an artist who spends most of my time outdoors, whether that be working in the garden, thru hiking, backpacking, or drawing interesting plants. I love to experiment with fabric and natural dyes, and spread knowledge about developing a sustainable arts practice.

As an artist, my practice focuses on learning from my surroundings. I believe drawing from life and engaging with nature is important when developing an art practice. I teach natural fiber and dyeing workshops for all ages. I discuss the history, uses, and growing instructors of certain plants, and show how to extract color from the plants, in order to dye natural fibers, such as cotton or wool. I also can teach basic sewing and printmaking techniques, as well as color theory, life drawing and landscape painting.
