Hello! My name is Derrick, and I am a First-Class Computer Science graduate currently working as a Database Administrator in the software industry. I have a passion for programming, databases and problem solving, and I enjoy helping others develop the skills and confidence needed to succeed. Throughout my degree and professional career, I have gained practical experience with Python, SQL, database design and software development. Whether you’re learning Python or SQL for the first time, preparing for university coursework, or looking to improve your programming skills for work, I will adapt each lesson to suit your needs. We’ll work through examples together, discuss why the code works, and build your confidence by practising each concept step by step. I encourage students to ask questions throughout the lesson and work at a pace that feels comfortable. After each session, you’ll have a clearer understanding of the topic along with practical knowledge that you can apply independently. My aim is to help you become a confident programmer who understands both the concepts and how they are used in real-world applications.
