About Becky
I started learning the piano when I was four, which led to me picking up various other instruments, beginning teaching when I was 15 and then at 18, I went to study music at York, graduating with a first class honours earlier this year. Music has shaped my life, it's where I've made most of my friends, it's where I've found my confidence and it's where I feel I am most myself. I love passing on my love of music to others and continue to encourage others to go and see an orchestra, or a brass band, or even to pick up an instruments themselves.
I play in several music ensembles, as well as conducting and accompanying.

My lessons, as a child, were great fun and taught me not only to love playing the piano, but to love music as a whole. This is so important and is something I try to teach all of my students.
Each student has different needs and finds enjoyment in different methods, therefore I focus on getting to know the student very early on and adapt my methods to suit them.
We will play games to get to know the piano as well as to begin to learn music theory in a fun way, and can cover a range of styles, from jazz, to pop, to classical, to suit what the student wants to achieve in their time with me.
