About Hansika

I'm Hansika, a First Class BSc (Hons) Neuroscience graduate from the University of Manchester, where I also co-authored peer-reviewed published research.

I've been tutoring for three years, teaching Maths and Sciences across KS3, GCSE and A-Level, both privately and at tuition centres. I currently teach Maths one-to-one with a specialist education provider, and throughout my degree I supported neurodivergent and SEN students, so I'm experienced at adapting my teaching to each student's needs.

I hold an enhanced DBS certificate, and I'm reliable, punctual and committed to keeping parents updated on their child's progress.

Understanding how the brain learns is my field, and I bring that into every lesson. My aim is for students to leave each session more confident and genuinely understanding the material, not just memorising steps.

My Maths lessons are for KS3 and GCSE students (ages 11–16), including students who find Maths stressful or have fallen behind, and students aiming for top grades.

Every student starts with a short diagnostic in the first lesson so I can find the gaps, whether that's fractions, algebra or problem-solving, and build from there step by step. I explain the reasoning behind each method rather than just the steps, then we reinforce it with worked examples, guided practice and past paper questions. For GCSE students, I focus on exam technique: breaking down worded questions, showing working that earns method marks, and prioritising the topics that come up every year.

I have three years of tutoring experience across KS3, GCSE and A-Level, and I currently teach Maths one-to-one with a specialist education provider. I've supported neurodivergent and SEN students throughout my degree, so I adapt pace, structure and explanations to how each student learns best. Building confidence is as much a part of my lessons as the content.

Lessons are 60 minutes as standard, with 90 or 120-minute sessions available for intensive revision, with breaks built in. I teach at the student's home across Oldham, Tameside and Manchester, or online anywhere in the UK.
