About Louis
I have 30 years of experience in assisting learners to achieve top results. I teach all UK Examination boards (Oxford AQA, Edexcel, CIE, etc.) and American AP Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus. I also teach first-year Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry. I am an expert in online teaching and use both Zoom and ClassIn as my platforms for effective and entertaining online tuition. I use the latest 21st-century technology, resources, and communication platforms to enhance the learning experience and create a framework that promotes inquiry, understanding, problem-solving, and reasoning skills in an enjoyable and effective fashion. I use scaffolding and motivational techniques to improve the confidence, ability, and fluidity of students in solving problems by lateral and logical thinking within the context of the learning material. I am an expert in online teaching and provide students with exam-based resources tailored to their specific needs by providing authentic examples and scenarios that will lead to better understanding. I have a hands-on teaching approach that guides the learner through the process of scaffolding to master the material bit by bit. My main aim is to build confidence and skills in problem-solving which will lead to academic achievement. I am an expert in bringing abstract theoretical concepts into the concrete world of the learner and I also provide examples of practical applications of the theory to enhance problem-solving skills in the process of active application of theoretical knowledge. I also make use of applets to simulate practical situations in online teaching. I work well with both high and low-ability students and make provisions in my classes to accommodate both groups. I treat students as individuals with unique learning abilities, preferences, background knowledge, and aptitudes and then adapt my approach in teaching according to the unique character of each individual. I provide students with differentiated resources that can assist them in their learning and provide visual material that assists in making abstract concepts more understandable. I provide a variety of assessment techniques and resources that students can use to become familiar with exam-type questions and use this to build confidence and examination skills to be successful. I also provide continuous assessment opportunities for learning in a proactive way in order to ensure the learner's progress. My classes are interactive and enjoyable and I create an atmosphere in which students feel free to ask questions and work together in groups to assist each other. I incorporate practical work frequently in order to enhance understanding and build confidence. My students are learning in an effective, friendly and respectful environment.
