About Lydia
I am a fluent French speaker (native English speaker). Highest level qualification is IB French; currently studying Linguistics at the University of Edinburgh. Did a semester of French during second year of university. I spent a year in Paris before university, living in the 1st arrondissement and then in Montmartre. I also spent summers in Thonon between the ages of 14-17, staying with a relative. I am looking for extra income while I am studying; I live close to the city centre. I am enthusiastic about language study, and am very interested in the structure of language, which I study as part of my degree. Having spent a fair amount of time in France, I have good knowledge of the spoken language and culture. I am also looking forward to having another opportunity to use my own French language skills more regularly. Lydia is an absolutely wonderful tutor, however old you are. She is so pleasant and friendly, and I really appreciated the patience with which she tutored me. I did some basic French years ago and I really wanted to start learning properly, and I was so pleased by Lydia's guidance in not only the correct pronounciation but her thorough knowledge of grammar. She's super flexible and able to teach at different levels. I would highly recommend this awesome tutor!
Reference for Lydia Foster
I can confirm that I have known Lydia Foster since she was a student at sixth form. I have known Lydia since she was one of my French students during this time and I am currently the Deputy Headteacher of Parkside
Community College, Cambridge.
As a student, Lydia has always proved herself to be diligent, hardworking, respectful of others and
determined to succeed. She has an excellent work ethic which helped her to achieve a good set
of grades within the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IBDP). In the sixth form, Lydia was a good role model for our younger students and
completing the IBDP was no mean feat. This is a qualification which is highly respected
across the world. In her time with us, she always adopted a professional approach and was
able to build really positive relationships with other students, staff and members of the local
community. Furthermore, she maintained a very good attendance and punctuality record during
her time with us.
I highly recommend Lydia for any position within your organisation and I am confident that she
will be a great asset to you. She is able to adapt herself to different situations and I know
that she has the resilience to succeed in a wide range of settings. She will be an excellent tutor and I am confident that she possesses strong enough subject knowledge to carry out the tutoring role.
If you have any specific questions, please feel free to contact me for more details.
