About Oscar
I’ve been playing clarinet and bass clarinet since middle school and earned my Bachelor of Music in Performance from California State University, Long Beach. After college, I performed with the 300th Army Band and worked with youth orchestras, school music programs, and private students across Southern California including the Young Musicians Foundation in L.A. and the Pacific Symphony Youth Orchestra in Orange County. With more than a decade of teaching experience, I specialize in clarinet and bass clarinet for all levels and also teach beginner to intermediate saxophone.

My lessons focus on building strong fundamentals such as tone, technique, and reading skills, while keeping music enjoyable and engaging. A typical session starts with warm-ups and technical work, then moves into pieces tailored to the student’s goals, whether school repertoire, audition prep, or personal interests. Each lesson ends with a clear practice plan.
