About Maxim

Hi! My name is Maxim Giller and I am a former Division III swimmer and University record holder (200 Breaststroke) with over a decade of elite competitive experience. My background includes 3 years of collegiate swimming at the University of Rochester, 10 years at Peddie Aquatic Association, where I served as Senior Athlete Representative, and a decorated high school career as a Varsity Captain and 6-time record holder. I am also a CPR/First Aid certified beach lifeguard (Manasquan) with years of experience as a volunteer instructor at Peddie. I combine my high-level athletic perspective with professional safety expertise to help swimmers of all levels succeed.

Expertise:
Technique Analysis - Using collegiate-level insights to break down stroke mechanics and eliminate drag.
Stroke Improvement - Specializing in Breast, IM, and Free refinement for competitive swimmers.
Fundamental Instruction - Safe, engaging lessons for beginners to build water confidence and core skills.

About the lesson

My teaching method focuses on creating an engaging and supportive learning environment that caters to individual needs and goals. I combine structured technical training with personalized coaching, leveraging my background as a competitive athlete and personal trainer. My techniques include:

Progressive Skill Development: Breaking down complex movements into manageable steps.
Visual and Hands-On Learning: Demonstrating techniques and providing immediate feedback.
Positive Reinforcement: Encouraging confidence and celebrating progress.
Adaptability: Tailoring lessons to match the student’s pace, strengths, and areas for improvement.
