About Vignesh Subramanian
I wasn't always a good student. Like a lot of people, I went through a period of really struggling academically before figuring out what actually worked for me. Since then I've become a consistent Distinction and High Distinction student at university. The joy of turning things around is a big part of why I want to tutor.
I also know what it's like to sit in front of material that makes no sense and feel completely lost. Therefore my focus is always on making concepts and ideas digestible, not just explaining the bare minimum to pass. I'm particularly good at taking abstract or difficult concepts and finding ways to explain them that actually make sense, whether that's a psychological theory, an IB essay question, or a tricky piece of film analysis.
More than anything I want students who are in the same position I was in to walk away knowing that consistently good results are achievable. It just takes the right approach and that's what I'm here to help with.

My approach centres on understanding what assessments are actually asking, building structured analytical thinking, and developing students' confidence to construct their own arguments rather than memorise content. For IB students I focus heavily on assessment criteria literacy and timed practice; for undergraduates I focus on academic writing, research, reading strategies, and essay construction
Lesson Length: 1 hour per week (customised according to the needs of the student)
Age: 16-20 (IB Years 11-12 and Undergraduate Years 1-2)
