About Taebin
I'm a fourth-year student at the University of British Columbia, majoring in mathematics with a strong background in computer science. Alongside my degree, I graduated from Vancouver Film School, which gave me a unique perspective on how to communicate and explain complex ideas clearly and creatively.
I strongly believe that any difficult subject becomes genuinely enjoyable once you truly understand it and that the right tutor makes all the difference. My goal is not just to help you get through the material, but to make the learning experience something you actually look forward to.
I'm fluent in Korean and English, and I enjoy working with students from all kinds of backgrounds. Whether you're trying to pass an exam, get ahead in your coursework, or finally understand something that never quite clicked — I'm here to make sure it clicks, and that you enjoy the process getting there.

My approach is fundamentals first — rather than just drilling formulas or syntax, I focus on building genuine understanding so that ideas actually stick long-term. I'm very patient and adapt to each student's learning style, whether that means slowing down or pushing toward more advanced material.
A typical session starts by understanding what you want to learn or identifying where you're stuck, then working through the underlying concept together before applying it to practice problems or assignments.
As a person in a problem solving field, I'll tackle most of the challenges with learning by breaking down different factors --- whether it is from a problem that arises from fundamentals, the motivation to learn, or just the question itself. I hope the students not only learn how to use the formulas but actually understand the problem and develop problem solving mindset when tackling questions for any kind of problems (math or life).
For Korean, lessons are conversational and structured around what's most useful for your goals — whether that's reading, speaking, grammar, or just alphabets.
