About Suzette
EDUCATION AND TRAINING I am a fully qualified Primary Practitioner (BA Hons/PGCE/QTS/MA) with an up-to-date fully enhanced DBS and have the right to teach and work in the UK. EXPERIENCE I am currently in my tenth consecutive year as Primary Practitioner working in Enfield Primary Schools. I have an extremely sound knowledge of effective teaching and learning with a solid understanding of organising high quality, stimulating learning environments. I am familiar with responding to a wide range of different needs across all Primary Key Stages (3-11 year-olds) and have specialist teaching experience in Years 2 and 6 where I have taught Phonics, Reading, Grammar, Compositional Writing and Maths. In this role, (as a Booster Teacher) I have been consistently being placed with pupils in order to enable rapid progress/narrow gaps in attainment. This work has been informed by careful and detailed use of assessment data (both formative and summative), to ensure teaching specifically matches needs/requirements. Finally, I am a parent of two (now 20 and 23) and have exceptional interpersonal, written and oral communication skills, which are a fundamental part of my role: not only in relation to teaching primary-aged children, but also for the vital and central contact with parents and carers.

I am a well-spoken, native English speaker with a warm, positive and engaging personality. I fundamentally believe that every child has a natural inclination and enthusiasm to learn and therefore I have high expectations of all students. I am dedicated to inclusivity and adopt a creative approach to all of my teaching - kinaesthetic, aural, visual and verbal - in order to provide access and stretch for all pupils (such as SEND, BESD, EAL as well as G&T). I value highly, the rapport between Tutor and student. This relationship must be based on trust and respect, which is key to success. I therefore adopt a friendly, respectful and student-centred approach which uses a with a range of creative teaching/learning and holistic coaching styles. Like this, I can implement the appropriate technique/s suited to each student in order to promote their enjoyment, full participation and understanding. I design lessons that set clear goals, demonstrate skills and knowledge, and encourage children to ask questions, develop critical thinking skills and find answers and solutions through exploration. The interaction with my students, prompts them towards discovery and inspires a life-long love of learning. With the important insights into education that I have gained during my career, my progressive vision, (which is underpinned by the desire to equip children with the courage and curiosity that will set them up within the ever-evolving world they live in) and my love of and dedication to teaching, I trust that this will demonstrate that I could be an excellent Tutor for your child.
