About Tamsin
Hello! I am an English, Creative Writing and literature tutor based in the North East of England. I am a published playwright with Bloomsbury Methuen Drama, and was part of the prestigious Orange Tree Theatre Writer's Collective. I hold an AHRC funded PhD in Playwriting at Newcastle University. I work freelance as a script reader, lecturer, workshop leader, and dramaturg.
BA (hons) English Literature with Philosophy, First Class.
MA Creative Writing, Distinction.
PhD in Creative Practice, playwriting.

What I teach: I specialise in teaching English, creative writing, the craft of playwriting, and contemporary literature.. I am well experienced in working with a variety of clients and have taught and mentored in universities, theatres, theatre companies, and charities. I have specialised experience in teaching undergraduate, graduate, postgraduate, and adult tutoring, but am flexible to the needs and goals of the student.
How I teach: My teaching style is patient, flexible, interesting, and accessible. My focus is to support the student find confidence, skills, their style, voice, and passion for literature, drama, and creative writing. I run each lesson dependent on what the overall goal of the student is, and will build towards that. Each lesson is between 1 and 2 hours. I keep it focused on a specific craft tool or skill, with a variety of stimulating exercises and examples through specific reading resources tailored to the student's interests. We will work together to focus and develop your craft, confidence, and writing style.
