About Gloria
Hi, my name is Gloria and I'm a 2nd year Marketing Communications student at Bournemouth University. Having studied English Language and Sociology at A level, I have naturally grown fond of writing and developed a passion for these subjects.
During Sixth form I was a student ambassador, which among other things, I volunteered to help Key Stage 3 students with reading and writing during lunchtime once a week.
I understand that, as a subject, English language can be challenging for students as there is a high volume of work involved. But, I believe that by dedicating time to the challenges of English and learning from your mistakes, anyone can gain the skills needed to ensure they are prepared for future or present exams.

My teaching method is predominantly question and answer, but also flashcards and effective note-taking. I believe that students retain more information when they are able to interact with it. I make sure to create a comfortable and friendly environment so the tone of the session will be more like a conversation than a lecture.
The student will feel free to ask any questions as they go along and we can stop and go over something if it isn't clear enough. My lessons are for students of any age from Key Stage 3 to A level.
To prepare for the session, I will focus on the student's needs. To do this I will ask the student about their exam board and current grade expectations. This way I can personalise and prepare my sessions for each student.
