About Jennifer
I am a Doctor of Zoology who loves all Science and finds improving students' grades very satisfying. I am patient, punctual, thorough and encouraging.
Since I have been tutoring since 2012 I have become very experienced in helping students understand the content and exam technique better. I welcome students who are struggling, those that want to secure good grades for getting onto A-level courses (I tutor in A-level Biology too) and anyone else who wants/needs tuition in GCSE Chemistry, Biology or Physics.
When I am not tutoring, I enjoy Science Fiction, gardening, knitting strange creatures and listening to 60s, 70s and 80s music.

I use a variety of methods to tutor GCSE Science students, including presentations, compilations of past paper questions, whiteboards and models such as MolyMod kits for ball and stick models, and I can also demonstrate some of the practical work required for Triple and Combined Science.
Typically my tuition sessions last an hour, but I am flexible about that.
Tailoring the sessions to the particular student's requirements is important to me, these may be "I want to do past paper questions on unit 3" or keeping students with autism/ADHD on track. I have considerable experience in assisting students with SEND, and have worked in further education as well as having an Honours (2:1) degree and PhD in Zoology.
I generally tutor students aged 14-18 (Year 9-13) but also welcome students returning to education.
