About Mohamed
I'm Mohamed, a mathematics teacher from Egypt, living in Sharjah. I hold a Bachelor of Education in Mathematics from Damanhour University, taught in English, and a Professional Diploma in Teaching Math in English from the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, where I earned an A in all four levels.
I have been teaching for five years and have worked with more than seventy students, from Grade 1 up to first-year university calculus. Today I teach Grade 9 and Grade 10 full time at an American-curriculum school in Sharjah, and I tutor in the evenings.
I chose a degree in education rather than pure mathematics on purpose. I was more interested in how people learn math than in the mathematics itself. In five years I have almost never met a student who was genuinely bad at math. I have met many who missed one step, kept going, and slowly stopped believing they could do it. That belief is usually harder to repair than the mathematics.
That is the part of the job I care about, and it is why I still teach in the evenings after a full day in a classroom.

My lessons are one to one, either online or at your home in Sharjah. A typical lesson is one hour, and I usually recommend two lessons a week. For students further away, or for exam preparation, I book two hours back to back.
I start every new student with a short diagnostic. Instead of re-teaching a whole chapter, I find the exact step where understanding breaks down, and we rebuild from there. It is usually one idea from a year or two earlier, and once it is fixed the rest moves quickly.
I teach on a digital pen tablet, so every step is written out just as it would be on a classroom board, and you keep the notes to revise from. After I work through an example, I hand the problem over and stay quiet while the student solves it. I ask what should I do next, rather than do you understand, because the second question always gets a yes.
I teach Grades 1 to 12 across the American, British, IB, UAE Ministry and Egyptian curricula, in English or Arabic. I hold a Bachelor of Education in Mathematics and a Professional Diploma in Teaching Math in English, and I teach full time at an American-curriculum school in Sharjah.
