About Ruth
I’m a friendly, creative and approachable art tutor with professional experience as an illustrator and mural artist, alongside hands-on experience working with children. I regularly lead creative activities for young children and help run children’s art parties, so I’m comfortable working with different ages, personalities and confidence levels.
I want every child to feel comfortable experimenting, making mistakes and developing their own ideas. My approach is encouraging and supportive, while still helping children build genuine artistic skills and knowledge. Whether your child is completely new to art or already loves creating, I’ll tailor lessons to suit them and help them grow in both skill and confidence.

My lessons are fun, relaxed and creative, while still teaching real art skills. I bring all the art materials needed for each session, so your child can simply enjoy creating, experimenting and learning without you having to prepare anything. I adapt each lesson to the child’s age, interests and experience, exploring drawing, painting, colour, different materials, artists and techniques through engaging projects. My aim is for children to look forward to their art lessons and see them as a fun creative activity, while building genuine skills and confidence along the way. I have experience working with children through Art Play in Chelsea, running creative sessions and children’s parties. My main focus is children aged 4–12, from complete beginners to those wanting to develop their skills further. I’m also happy to teach adults who would like to explore their creativity.
