About Alex
I’m a graduate of The Bartlett School of Architecture, currently working as a lighting designer at Nulty. My background combines technical design and creative exploration, and art has always been at the heart of my work. I have a deep passion for helping young artists develop their ideas, push their creative boundaries, and build meaningful, well-structured portfolios. Whether students are preparing for GCSE, A-Level, or aiming for university-level study, I guide them in creating work that’s both technically strong and personally expressive. Beyond skills and outcomes, I always build strong connections with my students. I take time to understand their interests, learning styles, and artistic goals, and I shape each session around what motivates and inspires them. I believe that confidence, creativity, and enjoyment are just as important as technical ability — especially for young people developing their artistic voice. My teaching style is structured yet supportive. I challenge students to think critically about their work, while also giving them the space to experiment and grow. Every student I’ve worked with has left with a stronger portfolio, clearer creative direction, and a renewed enthusiasm for their art.
