About Maira
I am patient and understand that Mathematics and Sciences are complex subjects. I offer clear and structured tuition for primary, KS3 and GCSE students.
I hold a degree in Electronic & Electrical Engineering and have 8 years of professional experience working in fintech in London. Alongside my industry career, I have provided over 100 hours of maths tutoring at a local tuition centre in Wimbledon, supporting students with confidence-building, problem solving, and exam preparation.
I specialise in:
* Primary maths and Science
* KS3 maths
* GCSE Maths and Science (Foundation and Higher)
* Maths confidence and revision support
* STEM-focused learning approaches
*GCSE retakes
My teaching style is patient and practical. I focus on helping students understand concepts step-by-step rather than memorising methods. I enjoy helping students who feel anxious or lack confidence in maths.
Because of my engineering and finance background, I can also show students how maths is used in real careers and real-world problem solving.
Lessons can include:
* Homework support
* Exam practice
* Revision planning
* Mental maths and numeracy
* Problem-solving techniques
* GCSE preparation
I also hold a CELTA qualification, which strengthens my communication and teaching approach with students from different backgrounds and learning styles.
I have an active Enhanced DBS check.
