About Alexandra

I am currently a year 1 student at Univeristy of Edinburgh. I have achieved three As in A level Biology, Chemistry, Maths, and six 9s in GCSEs. I have a natural ability to explain concepts clearly and keep lessons engaging. My communication skills help create a relaxed learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions.

About the lesson

My tutoring approach focuses on breaking down complex topics into simple, understandable concepts while ensuring lessons are interactive and enjoyable, so my students can have a deeper memory of every lesson and every topic we have covered. I tailor my teaching style to each one's needs, helping them to grasp what examiners are looking for and how to apply their knowledge effectively. I make use of past paper questions, exam techniques, and active recall strategies to reinforce learning. I also encourage open discussions and problem-solving, ensuring that my students truly understand the subject rather than just memorising facts. Before we go every lesson, I make sure my student really understand the matter and can apply them comprehensively, which is the key of learning. My lessons are typically 1 hour long, most of the time I adjust the length depending how much we have learnt that day, so I would say the duration can be pretty flexible. I tutor GCSE students of all abilities, whether they need help building confidence, improving exam techniques, or pushing for top grades. My lessons are ideal for students in year 8-11 preparing for GCSEs in subjects I specialise in.

I met Alexandra at school, she is my mentor who helps me with all my subjects for GCSEs. She is very nice mentor as she is very committed to this responsibility of making sure I have a comprehensive knowledge instead of just the content the exam board needs. Besides, she spends her personal time on personalising my learning making me understand my weakest areas and strengthen my exam skills in topics I’m familiar with.
