I have a PhD in chemistry and have taught general (introductory) chemistry and organic chemistry at the community college level, where it is common to encounter stdents who are struggling and require extra help . I have also taught doasge calculations (math for meds).

Chemistry can sometimes feel impossible to learn. First we talk about where you are stuck to identify the mental block, then I like to start with very simple problems so that you can easily see the strategy behind problem solving. Once you understand the basics and gain some confidence, we move onto more difficult problems. It is really just a matter of applying the same simple strategy throughout the entire year of chemistry. You just need to learn a new way to think through problems.
