I have taught many courses over the past 6 years including sedimentology and stratigraphy, structural geology, introductory geology (minerals, rock types, geologic features, etc.), and field mapping techniques. Overall, I've taught an estimated 120 students and developed various curricula based on the successes of my students.

I'm open to tutor at any level in geology and geoscience. Because geoscience is such a visual subject matter, I emphasize 'concept sketching' as the best way to prove that full comprehension has been achieved. A concept sketch is basically a cartoon, diagram, or other student-derived representation of a complex system. For example, at the end of a lesson on faults, a student will spend a few moments drawing the various types of faults and labelling the different components of each. Once complete, they will have proven to themselves that they comprehend the material, retention of the material will be high because the student was actively engaged, and they will have a completely personalized visual study guide.
