About Hannah
I am a detail-oriented geologist with both a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Geological Sciences, graduating with high honors and a GPA near 4.0. Over the past several years, I have gained extensive teaching experience as a teaching assistant and course tutor in university-level geology courses such as mineralogy, sedimentology, and paleontology. In addition to my academic background, I have conducted original research in paleobiology and sedimentology, presented at national conferences, and contributed to advanced lab and field studies. My professional training includes hands-on expertise in petrographic microscopy and fieldwork techniques. I am committed to providing clear, engaging, and well-structured lessons tailored to each student’s needs. My goal is to build your confidence and help you master geosciences concepts through interactive explanations and real-world examples. My teaching approach focuses on clarity, curiosity, and confidence-building. I adapt each session to the student’s level, goals, and learning style—whether they're in middle school, high school, or pursuing a college degree in geosciences.
I use a mix of visuals, real-world examples, and active discussion to make complex topics like rock cycles, fossils, or geologic time feel approachable. A typical lesson begins with a quick review or check-in, followed by focused exploration of a key concept, then guided practice or Q&A. I also support exam prep, homework help, or independent enrichment.
With a BSc and MSc in Geology and four years of experience as a course tutor and teaching assistant, I bring both deep subject knowledge and a passion for helping students connect with the material. I love seeing that “aha” moment when a concept clicks!
Lessons are for all levels—from curious beginners to geology majors—and I especially enjoy working with students who are ready to discover just how vast and fascinating Earth science can be.
