About Katja
I am a native German from Frankfurt and although I left my studies in German literature at the GOETHE University of Frankfurt, I have been teaching German as a foreign language for 15 years. I love my language and I really enjoy analyzing and teaching it and I would describe myself as an enthusiastic teacher, vital and open to everything new in the world of teaching. I have deepened the most classical teaching just like the Vera Birkenbihl method. My empathic side helps a lot with my ability to adapt or mix different teaching methods, depending on the type of student.
I love people, their stories and their lives. I enjoy teaching you tools to communicate in your style and with style.

My love for logic means that I am good at structuring my classes, facilitating grammar topics in a very effective way so that you learn it easily, even topics that seem complicated.
When I had to decide what to study, I was between logic and art, between being a programmer or an artist.
Apart from teaching I have my signature jewelry brand. I design and manufacture them myself in my beautiful workshop.
My artistic side benefits my mathematical side and vice versa.
I love teaching and would love to introduce myself and my methodology to you in more detail in a free session or just do a trial class.

I have lived in Barcelona for 20 years and work both as a creative jeweler and as a German teacher.
:)
A side of me is very vital and creative that constantly wants to implement new ideas artistically, that has a lot of interest in people and what is happening in the world. I like to listen. My other side is rather very mathematical and hence my love for grammar and pure logic. Thanks to my creativity combined with a sense of logic and structure, I have really developed my own concepts and strategies to teach German and facilitate learning. It is also important that you enjoy it and have a little fun learning German.

For many years I gave individual and group classes in language schools and companies: I have experience teaching pure communication classes to intense preparation classes for different types of exams (DaF, university papers, ESO exam), I was also a tutor in German schools and Swiss.
Thanks to the many teenagers who motivated me to simplify everything, develop learning tricks and interesting learning methods, I have my own wide repertoire of learning strategies no matter how old you are! It was very funny for me, because I often realized that many learning books, especially on grammar, explained in an (unnecessarily) complicated way and that even the topics intended to train communication skills were not structured in a particularly motivating way.
I really enjoy communication, each person is a world to discover and connect. We won't be bored, I promise you. I offer either a free teaching style that aims to teach you to express yourself comfortably with your personality, rather a theoretical one that deepens the grammar if you wish, or a mixture of the two styles.
