About Shay
My journey in academia has been non-traditional and quite unique.
I taught myself 4 A-Levels and got into several top universities in the UK through 2 UCAS rounds! This has offered me a unique perspective on navigating the university applications and entrance system, particularly Oxbridge. I have mentored and tutored many applicants, sharing the ropes and helping to secure offers.
Every journey is unique to each applicant and my role will be to help you choose the best option for you and help you get in.
In addition to tutoring and mentoring, I work in tech and love dystopian novels, comedy clubs, art exhibitions and escape rooms (to name a few)!

One size does not fit all when it comes to tutoring.
I apply a high level of tailoring for my tutees, where every student has their own needs, requirements, and ways of learning met. The goal will always be admission into a top university, however, the journey and approach for each student are different.
In terms of lessons they can range from 30 minutes, to 90, it's up to you, what you need and how you prefer working. Initially, we would do a consultation and dive deep into which university to opt for, college, and course and create a plan to get you there.
Having gone through the process at both Oxford and Cambridge has given me an insight into the entire process from start to finish, showing me the differences between the two and their approaches. During my time at Cambridge, I mentored potential applicants for admissions, as well as worked alongside admissions tutors in accessibility & inclusion. This has allowed me to gain insight into what admissions tutors are looking for, how they assess, and the different approaches depending on the different colleges you apply for.
I have now tutored and mentored for nearly 10 years. In addition to Oxbridge admissions, I tutor subjects within the Social Sciences, Humanities, English learning and Study Support as well as general UK University entrance help.
Ultimately, my approach to tutoring will capture the diversity of each student, providing a platform for you to excel in your admissions journey.
