About Abigail
I am a second-year teacher in a grade 1/2 classroom specializing in early literacy and numeracy. I have a Bachelor of Education (honors with distinction) and a Bachelor of Arts (honors) from the University of Lethbridge. I have experience with ELL/ESL students, a variety of complex behaviors and needs, students with speech programs, and students with ASD and global developmental delay. I believe that every child can learn and succeed with the right programming, support, and encouragement.

I am an encouraging and friendly teacher seeking to support elementary students in their literacy and numeracy skills. I promote a welcoming and inclusive learning environment working alongside parents and caregivers to support young learners and their varying needs. A typical literacy lesson would be 30 minutes to 1 hour of engaging literacy activities: sight word and phonics games, phonemic awareness listening activities, decoding practice, and online programming options for between sessions. A typical numeracy lesson would be 30 minutes to 1 hour of engaging numeracy activities: whole body counting forwards, backwards, and skip counting, hands-on addition and subtraction, math vocabulary focus games, and online programming options for between sessions.
