About Ella Hoshiko
I believe in a personal professionalism in my interactions with students. I like to maintain focus concerning why we are meeting and to ensure that there is a mutual respect of the relationship between students and myself. However, I also believe that teaching, especially writing, must be somewhat personal and fluid. I want to help all my students express their personalities within their work and help them also by getting to know who they are. I will always strive to respect and establish boundaries between students and myself as is appropriate while still providing space in lessons for students to be themselves.

My method is based on the contexts of the learner, I want to work with students to find what methods best suit them! I believe there is a writer in every person and I know how to play a supporting role in expressing that writing. Whether that is providing more prompts to practice writing creatively or close-reading text until it's broken down into more understandable concepts. I provide tutoring for students in middle school, high school, and bachelor's students. I have mostly interacted with APA and MLA citation formats but am familiar also with Chicago style. I can also proofread and edit papers alongside tutoring.
