English Instructor – ACT, SAT, EST Preparation | Grades 10–12 | American Division International School, Egypt Teaching Philosophy & Methodology My teaching approach is rooted in clarity, structure, and active engagement. I believe that effective learning stems from a strong foundation in core skills, critical thinking, and tailored support. I use a mix of direct instruction, interactive questioning, scaffolded practice, and real-world application to ensure students not only understand concepts but can apply them in academic and test settings. I focus on: Differentiated instruction to meet individual student needs Data-driven feedback to address gaps and track progress. Integration of test-taking strategies for standardized exams. Encouragement of analytical writing and close reading skills A standard 60-minute session is divided into four phases: 1. Warm-up (5–10 mins) – Quick review of previous material or skill-based mini-quiz. 2. Core Instruction (20–25 mins) – Explanation of the day’s objective, covering grammar, literature, or reading strategies with examples. 3. Practice/Application (20 mins) – Students engage in guided or independent tasks, such as passage analysis or question drills. 4. Feedback & Wrap-up (5–10 mins) – Discuss common errors, reinforce key takeaways, and preview next steps. I create comprehensive, student-friendly notes and practice materials that align with ACT/SAT/EST formats and expectations I adapt content and examples to be culturally relevant while maintaining global academic standards. Target Students My sessions are designed for high school students in Grades 10 to 12, particularly those enrolled in American Division international schools preparing for college entrance exams such as the ACT, SAT, or EST.
