About Isaac
I myself had trouble writing when I was younger, so It is with great confidence and satisfaction that I teach others to discover those skills for themselves. Writing is, in a sense, protracted thinking. If utilized well, you can use it to develop ideas and increase the depth of your own understanding. With understanding comes clarity, and clarity is what allows you to navigate both academia and life. I myself learned how to express my ideas in writing from an excellent tutor back in the day and it has made all the difference. It is with great pleasure that I pass on the torch of learning by sharing what was once shared with me, with you.

My teaching method is very organic but also systematic. I like to determine my student's assignments or needs first. I then want to see how far along they are in reaching those goals and what troubles they are having in achieving their objectives. This is the core reason they are seeking a tutor. Once that is established I like to dive right in. If it is an assignment that can be broken down into steps, such as a paper, we start with a thesis and outline then get the materials organized before doing the grunt work of writing the paper.
If the assignment involves wrapping one's mind around complex ideas, we proceed via critical inquiry into the materials while considering multiple viewpoints. We then move on to the student's own personal takeaways after they grasp the big picture and try to tie it to something in their personal experience that is relatable to make it stick. I can tutor college undergrads and high school students. Reading comprehension, critical inquiry, and writing are my strengths. I like to keep lessons fun and interesting while still getting work done.
