About Teah
Hello all,
I will start off by saying I do not approach teaching in the typical manner.
I think most class structures are fine but not very student focused.
Instead I apply a more aggressive approach, if we can’t all succeed then the system is broken.
Classes are only hard to allow the people teaching them to feel better about their knowledge.I feel it is very ego centered and that is BS.
I have a few statements I regularly say when teaching;
1. Everyone starts at a different position, this doesn’t mean someone is smarter than you or dumber. We all just have different backgrounds.
2. If someone tells you “you can’t do it” don’t respond, just show them you can.
3. Schools are not meant for the majority, they are meant to make people feel dumb so they can take your money and feel smart. It is not your fault. We, together, will change that.
No one should stand in the way of your future.
Life is unfair and people do have advantages in life and in school.
I’m here to even the playing field and create opportunities for those who want it.
I’m very passionate about teaching and want to make sure that you are always leaving feeling better than you came in.
I can not change everything alone but we can try.
I will always do my best to support and help you in any way shape and form.
I get very invested in those I teach and wouldn’t want it any other way.
You are the future!

I have earned a couple awards through the years including: organic chemistry, applied mathematics/physics, and teaching in chemistry.
My approach is student based. I believe 100% in anyone I have taught. Learning should be fun and exciting. NOT overwhelming or difficult. Although some parts might take a couple attempts to conceptualize, it should not be impossible.
These “hard” classes are not actually hard to understand or pass. They are intentionally hard so people who are not committed will leave. I think that is the biggest problem with schooling now. I prefer to take the approach of everyone can do it, we might have to take it slow from the beginning but will be able to catch up and surpass.
I mainly focus on tutoring chemistry (intro to chem, high school chem, and organic chem) and basic math classes (algebra and geometry).
I previously have tutored for high school through sophomore in college, however I am willing to work with younger students as well.
Starting a good base will make all classes easier in the future!

She really take a special interest in her students.
I have overheard some conversations Teah has while tutoring and she has a unique life approach. I’m not exactly sure how to describe it.
I have only worked with Teah for a couple of months but she seems to actually motivate my son.
He is a freshman in college taking chemistry and he seemed very lost at the beginning.
Now he seems more engaged.
She seems to acknowledge how hard it is and uses it as motivation.
I really don’t understand how she does it but I know it makes him feel comfortable.
She really knows how to twist things into being positive.
Teah has tutored my daughter for 1 year now. I am always surprised by how far she come. My daughter is not only getting better grades but has this new confidence she didn’t show before.
I’m not sure how but Teah has really managed to get her excited about learning while breaking her out of her shell.
I will say it is hard to coordinate sometimes with our busy schedule but Teah has always been able to shift things around to accommodate us. I’m just happy I don’t have to force my daughter to do her homework anymore!View more recommendations
