About Michael
My academic journey challenged my vision of success and failure. I quickly discovered that education was not a linear success and moments of failure were disheartening. But I also learned perseverance, reflection and grace.
With two degrees- an Associate's degree in English studies and a Bachelor of Arts in Literature with Creative Writing emphasis- I have had exposure to diverse formats of writing: Academic, MLA, APA, PIQs, Poetry, Research Reports and Journalism.
Stepping into the world of graduate school, I also have significant experience editing and reviewing Master's Theses and Dissertations.

As a tutor I meet students where they are at. Together, we can assess skills that are strong, comfortable and weak in order to develop a style of learning that caters repetition and exposure to those areas.
As such, a general lesson plan will ascertain whether my student prioritizes reading or writing proficiency, critical analysis or editorials. My services also entail editing sessions, where essays, prompts, PIQs and dissertations can be workshopped.
Together, we will create an organized system that tracks the student's development that offers a display of growth and creates room for a self-reflective space.
My lessons are designed for college and graduate level courses, although, the ideology behind my tutoring practice can also be applied to earlier levels of education.
