About Mikayla
I graduated from the University of North Texas in 2022 with a B.S. in Psychology and Biochemistry. I worked formally as a Lead Tutor for my university's Learning Center during my time there, where I was able to obtain CRLA tutoring certification before my graduation. The majority of my time spent tutoring for my university was focused on Organic Chemistry, as I was the only tutor offering help in the course, and I was able to help many students gain their confidence back in the classroom through my work. I have previously tutored high school level chemistry and am able to help with preparation for the AP examination in that subject.

I have worked as a tutor for undergraduate level sciences for a few years. My major goal of any tutoring session is to help you understand the "why" of whatever we are working on, as this is one of the biggest keys to being able to understand how to approach things like reaction mechanisms, metabolic pathways, or retrosynthetic analysis problems. I don't give you the answers, I am there to guide you through your own learning process using evidence-based tools like Bloom's Hierarchy of Learning and active listening.
