About Jacob

I’ve been tutoring mathematics for over 15 years, from casual peer support to professional roles with organizations like The Huntington Learning Center and Varsity Tutors. I bring not just experience, but energy—many have said my passion for math is infectious. I consider that enthusiasm my greatest strength. My goal is always the same: to help students leave each session not just more confident, but genuinely excited to learn and excel.

About the lesson

Tutoring is, at its core, a form of communication. I see each subject as a marble block—full of potential but unshaped. My role is to help students discover the tools and techniques to carve their own understanding. Rather than impose a single mold, I guide them in sculpting their own approximation—something personal, lasting, and meaningful.

I recommend Jacob as a computer programming tutor because of his strong technical skills, clear communication, and genuine passion for helping others learn. He has a solid grasp of programming concepts and the ability to break down complex topics in a way that's approachable and engaging. His patience and supportive teaching style make him an excellent mentor for learners at any level. He uses different teaching styles based on what the student works best with -- there is no one way of teaching.
